The Fight Entertainment Group (FEG) subscribed a deal on June 26th with the Kyoei Boxing Gym with the aim of obtaining more talents for their K-1 and Hero's shows.
Therefore the Kyoei Promotion Inc. will watch out for new talents to train them for K-1. Beside a gym in Tokyo Kyoei is mainly represented in St. Petersburg and Bishkek.
MMA and Boxen are greatly popular in the Russian-speaking part of the world and with the arriving of more and more fighters from that region a sponsorship seems to be promising.
This way K-1 Event Producer Sadaharu Tanikawa hopes to solve the problem of lacking new blood. At the same time the initiative expands the pool of fighters for the K-1, K-1 MAX and Hero's productions and creates space for variety and new events.
Next to the popular K-1 Try Outs which will from now on also be held in these areas Tanikawa mentioned that a World Grand Prix in Russia is possible in 2008 or 2009.
